Event: Mainstreaming biodiversity in policymaking – June 5, 2025

Under the Transformative Change for Biodiversity cluster, a group of Horizon Europe-funded projects— CLEVER, BioValue, Rainforest, TRANSPATH, Bamboo, Bedrock, BioAgora, BIONEXT, and BIOTraCes—are pleased to announce an online event dedicated to biodiversity, to be held on June 5, 2025.

The nine projects are working collectively to generate actionable knowledge on how European economies can thrive while reducing their impact on biodiversity both within the EU and globally. Together with policymakers, scientists, business leaders, and civil society representatives, the event aims to explore practical strategies for integrating biodiversity into policy and business decision-making at the EU level and beyond.

Agenda

The day (09:00 to 13:30 CET) will synthesise key insights into the workings of transformative change projects, followed by policy dialogue panels. The session will provide a platform for policymakers, businesses, and researchers to explore the integration and mainstreaming of biodiversity into local and regional policymaking within the EU, and on strategies for reducing the EU’s global biodiversity footprint. These sessions aim to promote open and inclusive dialogue on the role of biodiversity in shaping sustainable and resilient policies across Europe and beyond.
